Good morning love and welcome to Inspire My Morning! I'm so excited that you're here. Today, I'd like to take the time to welcome you, to tell you a little more about Inspire My Morning, and to find out more about you.
As a busy mom and entrepreneur, I've discovered that if I don't nail my mornings the rest of my day falls apart. My morning is the most critical part of my day.
Yet, before I had this revelation, I would start my day answering my phone, strolling social media, and laying in bed until the last minute.
Finally, I'd dash out of bed knowing that 3 little girls were killed last night; worrying about a friend from a morning phone call and running late getting my son to school.
No wonder I was a mess. I had read some bad news; I had obligated my time before my day even started, and I was perpetually late. So most mornings I was an emotional wreck. I felt overwhelmed and incompetent as a parent.
Being a stay-at-home blogger mom didn't help the chaos in my mornings. Sometimes, I'd find myself headed to pick my son up from school in the clothes I had slept in the night before. I had no grip on dinner and no progress in my business.
I kept telling myself it would get better, but it never did until I decided to inspire my morning. What I discovered was my morning started the night before. Getting enough rest, not taking on too many responsibilities late in the evenings, and having an unwind routine.
I learned to take a pause in the morning and allow my mind to catch up before jumping out of bed. I started to visualize the tasks that I needed to get done and I saw myself having a great and productive day. I started avoiding my phone at all costs. I did not jump on Facebook, read texts, or answer phone calls upon waking up.
Even today, I enjoy the silence in the morning. Just be quiet, please. After a moment of silence, I drink a full cup of water to hydrate my body and get my brain moving. Water is the best morning drink you can have. I take my shower, have some breakfast, and take my vitamins. This is when I take off to get my son to school.
We usually listen to music and talk. On the way back, I turn on my blue tooth and check my messages. If I need to call someone, I do it then because I need my full workday once I get home. I do my very best to be logged into my online business by 9:00 and avoid most distractions until after 2.
Yet, having that grip on my morning is the most important thing to me. There is nothing worse than looking at the clock past 12 p.m. and having nothing accomplished in your day.
We're going to be talking about energy in another episode, but I'm here to tell you to charge your battery at night and focus your energy during the day. If you get wiped out in the morning then you'll have nothing left for the remainder of it.
So, again, welcome! Let me inspire your morning so you can have a great day!
P.S. Don't forget to tell me a little about yourself in the comments, and please tell me your morning routine. Is your morning routine crazy? Do you have a grip on it? What topic would you like to discuss when it comes to getting your day started? I'm all ears! Let me know.
