Why Today Is A Great Day To Be Quiet

Good Morning Love, and welcome to episode 10 of  "Inspire My Morning"
I'm so excited that you're here! This morning we will focus on why today is a great day to be quiet.

If your morning catches you by surprise, it's easy to just start talking. You may not realize it, but you may start engaging in self-talk before you know it. It's not long before the phone rings or someone else starts talking to you.

However, there are some amazing benefits to being quiet, especially the first thing in the morning. Try catching yourself before you start talking. Take some quiet time to envision the kind of day that you want to have.

See yourself paying off some bills, getting some projects done, and having a very successful day. See yourself being happy and productive. Then start thinking of ways to speak those things versus anything opposite of what you want.

When you take some time to be quiet first, you can align your self-talk and conversations with others towards the results that you want out of your day.

Additional benefits to being quiet in the mornings and having brief moments of silence throughout the day are

Less Stress: sometimes the pressure to talk can be overwhelming. Yet, there's power in realizing that you don't have to say anything if you don't want to. Once you exercise your right not to talk, you'll feel less stressed about whether or not you're going to say the right things to people. Some people may see it as rude, but that's their problem. The more you practice silence when you really don't have anything to say, the more power you'll find in the words that you actually do say.

Calmer Emotions: silence can help you even out your emotions. You'll discover that taking time to be quiet can provide the inner peace that you need to find balance in your life. When you're not always talking, you can hear the solutions that you truly need for your life. Things don't seem as overwhelming anymore.

Improvement In Memory: since silence is a form of meditation, it can help your brain improve hippocampus growth. The hippocampus helps you to learn and remember things. The more hippocampus that you have in your brain, the less likely you'll suffer from Alzheimer's.  According to smartbrains.com, outside of exercise, stress reduction and meditation can help you remember more and become smarter.

Improved Wisdom: when you learn to be silent more often, you increase in wisdom. You become a better listener, more observant, and more sound in your judgment. If you're not talking all the time, people will actually listen when you have something to say. Also, when you speak, it will come from a more balanced and secure place because you've taken the time to "get well with yourself," before speaking to someone else.

Silence is a gold mine that you may be walking right by. You may feel as if you always need to be entertained or doing something that requires speaking or physical engagement. However, taking the time to be quiet and to find inner peace first thing in the mornings can help you find moments of silence throughout the day.
